Throwback Thursday: Medabots

If you were to ask me what I wanted when I was younger I would’ve said “a medabot!” with so much enthusiasm and stars in my eyes. As a child I remembered waking up Saturday morning for whenever this aired on TV and I would love every single second of it. I remember daydreaming of how things would be if I had a medabot. I always thought I’d be the champ and would kick so much butt around my school with my medabot haha, my childhood mindset was a pretty interesting one to say the least. Continue reading

Music Monday: Aeirs Theme

I can’t be the only one who listens to this song from time to time. This has got to be one of the most iconic melodies throughout any Final Fantasy fan’s life. Whenever I hear this song it sounds like complete bliss to my ears. I remember my first run through FF7 I didn’t keep Aeirs in my party at all. That’s when I was probably about 6 years old. Hell, I didn’t even know what I was doing. I was just going around kickin’ monsters butts, I didn’t even know what I story line was haha. Continue reading

Cosplay Sunday: Citlalin (See-tuh-lean) Munoz

Ahh cosplay Sunday is back again! And this time I’ve had the chance to work with a good friend of mine; Citlalin Munoz!

We took 100 pictures just to get this one.

I met Citlalin last year (2014) through the IT program that I’m currently going through. When I first saw her I thought to myself: “she seems like the serious type and she’ll probably give you the Medusa stone stare if you look at her the wrong way” (Sorry Citi) but as the saying goes, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. She’s one of the coolest people to be around and it’s always been nothing but good vibes whenever we hang out. She is no doubt the most humble person I know out of all of my friends. She’s hilarious as hell, and she’s always there for you if you need and ear to listen. I was actually kind of surprised that I found out she was into anime, I was REALLY surprised when I found out how DEEP into anime she was. Continue reading

Real life Peter Griffin

I came across this video today as I was doing my daily browsing of social media and man … this guys cosplay as Peter Griffin is on point! His ability to hit every nail right on the head right down to the voice is really damn impressive. But when he was being interviewed and he answered the questions it really made me think “damn, this is exactly why I started this up.” To be able to connect and form friendships with other anime lovers, cosplayers, and the like from everywhere from around the world. But I’ll keep this short and post the video already. Enjoy the real life Peter Griffin everyone!

I go to work and I’m like a nobody. I work a nobody job, making nobody pay, but I go to New York Comic Con and people are pulling out phones like I’m freakin’ Bradd Pitt or some shit. It makes me feel like a million bucks. It’s the reactions that I get out of what I do that gives me the joy of what I do.

Music Monday: Never been

Happy Monday everyone! So today for music Monday is a bit of a curve ball. Todays song I will be featuring “Never been” by Wiz Khalifa. Believe me, I was really skeptical about Wiz when he first came out and wasn’t too much of a fan of his. Hell, I was a bit angry when he had sampled this song from “Chrono Trigger” which is Schala’s theme. But my friends kept bugging me to give him a chance and just listen to him, so that’s what I did. Cosplay Sunday: SarahChaco

Happy Sunday everyone! Now I want to break down what Cosplay Sunday is about. This type of post I like doing (even if it is my first post) because it gives me a chance to know how a person got involved with the Otaku lifestyle. Whether it started from video games, to watching their first anime, or even listening to opening anime themes for hours on end, it’s still a pleasure getting to know them on a personal level. As I stated before in my “What’s your purpose?” post I’m here to share stories. Not all of us are famous cosplayers and not all of us cosplay as popular characters. So I’m here to do just that, give everyone some exposure to the light. Continue reading

Throwback Thursday: YuYu Hakusho

Yu.Yu.Hakusho.full.1013874

Throwback Thursday is back! I love doing these because I get to be reminded of my childhood and just drown in a pool of nostalgia. YuYu Hakusho was one of my all time favorites growing up. I remember when adult swim used to have Saturday’s dedicated to anime, I would always go buy a pint of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream (my ice cream of choice was half-baked, cookie dough and brownies *drools*) and wait patiently for the night full of anime to start. Keep in mind that I didn’t have a computer or internet at the time so this was my only exposure to anime as a child, other than the toonami block which played from 4pm-6pm. Continue reading

What’s your purpose?

I was asked a question today about my blog that really made me think. The question was “What other purpose do you serve other than sharing the otaku lifestyle?” For a moment I really had to ponder the thought and really dig down deep inside of me to figure out why else I started this blog.

To tell you the truth, although I haven’t gotten much leads on interviews yet, I’ve always been interested in meeting new people who share the same interests as I do and find out their stories. What I plan to do is have a photoshoot + interview with local cosplayers and find out what got them into anime, what they love most about the community, how they see the lifestyle evolving in the future, and so forth. Everyone has a different story that is meant to, and should be heard, and that’s why I’m here, to share our stories.

If you’re a cosplayer in the Seattle area and have a story you would like to be heard leave a comment or shoot me an email and lets get the ball rolling!

Music Monday: Kingdom Hearts

Good morning and happy Monday! Sometimes I wish we had 3 day weekends instead. But anyhow, lets kick off Monday with one of my favorite songs from the KH series, “Simple and Clean” by Utada Hikaru.

I’d like to say that this song is very nostalgic for me whenever I hear it, I remember the very ending of KH where I finally defeated Ansem. Waves of excitement washed over me as the final cutscene for the game happens. I put my controller down and propped my elbow on my knees and watched the game finally come to an end. The part where Sora and Kairi let go of each others hands nearly had me in tears as I finally realized that their might not be another game, little did I know about the secret ending at the very end of the credits though. Anyways, without further ado, feel free to relive the ending of KH again and listen to the song we all know and love.
