Lifestyle sunday: Darrot Bun

Hi folks! Sorry for the lack of content this week, I’ve been quite busy lately since the weather is finally starting to warm up. This week has been a very pleasant one for me. I’ve been able to catch up with old friends, help a friend out with starting his manga out that he’s been planning for quite some time now, and now I’m just waiting for some food to be done cooking. Hope all of you have had a good weekend as well. For Lifestyle Sunday today I wanted to give you guys some background info about myself. Perhaps I should have done this as one of the first posts, but I wasn’t thinking in the beginning.

Writing an article about yourself is a lot harder than I thought it would be … First and foremost I guess I should start on why I started this blog up. I created this blog not so long after my very first anime convention which was Sakura Con 2015, you can check out my experience here. I wasn’t really into conventions prior although I’ve been to pax 2013 but that kind of killed my mentality on my perspective of conventions. When I finally had decided on attending Sakura Con 2015 I thought to myself “what about those damn lines?!”

Lines Lines everywhere - Lines Lines everywhere Everywhere

But I disregarded the thought and made the purchase for my ticket to the event that I would remember for a life time and then some. I never knew just how supportive the anime community was and I truly did admire that. After some talking with my friend and some extensive thinking, I finally opted to start this blog.

Another reason why I started this blog up is because of the cosplayers, I was always fascinated by just how much detail goes into a costume and always wondered what kind of struggles people had while putting their costume together. Yes, I could be able to just ask them like any other regular person would but I wouldn’t be able to document it. I wouldn’t be able to have a 1 on 1 conversation and getting to actually know how that person is. So I do enjoy blogging and being able to set time aside to have an interview and getting to know more about someone’s story.

Growing up, I kind of felt disconnected from my family. So anime, manga, videogames, etc. were the only things that helped me escape from the loneliness. I remember when I was younger I would watch and research about anime into the wee hours of the early morning the next day to only wake up and dread another day of school. When I was younger I felt like a real outcast, I guess it was the transition from elementary school to middle school that really made me feel that way given that I had to make new friends all over again. That alone was a scary thought for me. I’ve always been the shy type so it’s hard for me to approach someone and make small talk, so that’s why I always resorted to keeping to myself. But if you were to ask me right now, my life is indeed in a very good place and I couldn’t be any happier with where my life is at.

Currently my favorite anime that I’m following is Fairy Tail. I just love the whole fairy tail universe and how everything intertwines together so well. The animation is great, music is great, character personas are all well balanced, there just isn’t anything you can hate on the anime about. If you were to ask me my top 5 animes of all time, I would have to say: Yuyu-Hakusho, Soul Eater, Medabots, Cowboy Bebop, and Fairy Tail. No, there is no particular order for that lineup. I personally love animes that have those tear jerking moments that can make a person cry some manly tears, don’t ask me why because I don’t even know the reason myself.

When I have some free time and I’m not watching anime I’m usually out and about snapping pictures with my Nikon D3100. I enjoy taking photos and use photography as another form of escape for me nowadays for whenever I’m feeling a bit stressed out. Being able to capture a moment that you’ll never be able to replicate again is something that I keep in mind for those moments that I don’t feel like shooting.

I shoot mainly pictures of my car which is another hobby of mines that I used to really excite me but after so long and a bit of growing up, cars start to become really low on your priority list but I can post some pictures of her for those who are truly interested. But as you guys have also seen in my past posts I also really enjoy shooting portraits also.

If you’d like to see more coverage of the two cosplayers displayed above feel free to check them out at the following links: Sarah Chaco, Citlalin Munoz

Well, that about wraps it all up for me. I’m just another human being like anyone else, I have my highs and lows when it comes to life. I’m always up for meeting new people nowadays so feel free to shoot me an email if you’d like to be featured on my blog! Till next time!
