Dragon Fest 2015

PSX_20150714_200321[1]

This whole year has been a year of new experiences for me. I used to dread going to crowd places because of the obvious, lines, foot traffic, and just being in crowds in general. But for some reason subconsciously I decided that this year will be the year that I try new things, and no, that wasn’t my new years resolution. I’m glad as hell that I did though because I can say that this year has been going pleasantly well for me. Be sure to hit the jump and check out my first-timer experience at this street festival!  Continue reading

E3: Square Enix, The Return of a Titan

Square enix, all hope was lost in the company at one point in time. Hell, some fans even moved on from the company and started playing other games/genres. For me I thought Square was the king of RPG’s way back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. They produced classics such as Dragon Quest, Secret of Mana, Chrono trigger, Chrono Cross, the list goes on. They were a beast that couldn’t be tamed, and for a long while they would drop hit after hit of classic RPG’s, but as we all know; every titan has their day. Continue reading

Another trip down memory lane: Return to Zanarkand

Probably known as the Final Fantasy that changed the franchise. This game was jam packed full of new features, mini games, characters, and everything else alike. For me, I had a love/hate relationship with this game. One aspect of the game that I absolutely loved was being able to switch out characters mid-battle. I thought that brought a lot of new excitement to the series. As I said in one of my previous posts (here) I never really did know what was going on in any RPG games, I would just grind the hell out of my characters until I was able to 1-hit KO all the monsters in the area and move onto the next. But as you grow up and you finally understand what the story is about, you finally begin to appreciate the story and all it stands for. Music Monday: Melodies of life

Todays music Monday is featuring one of my all time favorite FF games; Final Fantasy IX. In my personal opinion this game is underrated. Sure, it had its pros and cons but all in all I feel like it was a really good game. Every character each had their very own specific personality that just connected so well with the story. From Zidane’s comedic attitude, Freya’s seriousness, Vivi’s willingness to learn more about where he came from, Garnets (Dagger) personality of wanting to do what’s best for her. There was nothing to hate about the cast honestly. And I’m so thankful there was no significant death scene in this although, I was a bit heartbroken when I thought that Garnet would never speak again. Continue reading

Music Monday: Aeirs Theme

I can’t be the only one who listens to this song from time to time. This has got to be one of the most iconic melodies throughout any Final Fantasy fan’s life. Whenever I hear this song it sounds like complete bliss to my ears. I remember my first run through FF7 I didn’t keep Aeirs in my party at all. That’s when I was probably about 6 years old. Hell, I didn’t even know what I was doing. I was just going around kickin’ monsters butts, I didn’t even know what I story line was haha. Continue reading
